A shocking moment from a wedding in Madhya Pradesh has attracted attention online. The bride allegedly fled the stage during the wreath exchange ceremony and chose her lover instead. A video clip from the wedding, which is now circulating on Channel X, shows the bride suddenly leaving the stage as guests watch in surprise.
The clip sparked strong reactions online, with people discussing arranged marriages, family pressures and the emotional impact on everyone involved in the ceremony.
The bride leaves the stage in the middle of the ceremony
According to Dainik Bhaskar English, the incident occurred on the night of April 27-28 at Umrith village in Chhindwara district. The groom had arrived from Parasia with his wedding procession, and preparations for the marriage were underway.
The bar was reportedly greeted with fireworks, and guests gathered around the venue as the couple prepared for Varmala’s party. The groom was already standing on the stage when the bride arrived carrying a wreath.
The video, which went viral, shows the bride looking around for a few seconds before suddenly jumping off the stage and running away. According to Dainik Bhaskar English, she allegedly went straight to her lover, who was present at the wedding venue, hugged him and placed the garland around his neck.
People standing nearby appeared stunned as the unexpected scene unfolded in front of the guests and the two families, according to reports.
Clashes between families after the accident
According to the Dainik Bhaskar English website, the bride’s family members arrested the lover shortly after the incident. He was allegedly beaten and thrown out of the wedding venue.
After that, the situation became tense between the families of the bride and groom, which led to a quarrel between the two sides. After the incident, the groom reportedly refused to continue with the wedding and returned home with innocence.
Reports also claimed that the bride and her lover had been in a relationship for nearly two years and that her family was already aware of it. However, she allegedly agreed to the marriage due to family pressure.
The groom’s family later notified police, citing emotional distress and financial losses associated with the wedding cancellation. Reports also stated that the jewellery, ring and mobile phone given during the wedding process were recovered. The police are currently investigating the matter.

The clip quickly received thousands of reactions online. While some users supported the bride’s decision, others sympathized with the groom and questioned why the wedding had reached this point in the first place.
