An Indian woman who recently returned after spending 12 days in Switzerland shared her thoughts on comparing the country to India, especially Jammu and Kashmir. In a video posted on Instagram, she said that India is equally beautiful in terms of nature and landscapes, but pointed out that cleanliness is what it lags behind.
She added that the difference becomes very clear when you see how clean public places are in Switzerland. She also said that India has many beautiful tourist spots, but people need to take more responsibility to keep them clean.
A woman compares cleanliness in India and Switzerland
Both Switzerland and parts of India, especially Jammu and Kashmir, have similar natural beauty, the woman said in the video. However, she said the biggest difference she noticed was cleanliness.
“Guys, after spending 12 days in Switzerland, I just want to say one thing to Indians: Our India is equally beautiful, especially Jammu and Kashmir. I won’t say it is exactly the same, but it is quite similar in many ways. The only thing missing is cleanliness. Switzerland is very clean. People here have a responsibility to keep their country clean. I have not seen even a piece of paper scattered in Switzerland,” she said.
She also added that India has many amazing sites, but overall hygiene needs more attention.
“If we keep our country clean, we are no less than any of the most beautiful countries in the world, seriously. I belong to Jammu and Kashmir, and even in Jammu, we have such beautiful sites. Kashmir, of course, has many picturesque places too. But the only thing missing is cleanliness. Switzerland is very clean, and India is very dirty in comparison. There is no point in denying the truth,” she said.

The video was shared on Instagram with the following caption: “This is how I felt after spending 12 days in Switzerland.” It quickly gained attention, with users sharing mixed reactions.
Some agreed with her and said that India’s beauty is often affected by poor hygiene habits.
One user wrote: “India has it all, from mountains to rivers and forests, but we have to learn how to respect public spaces.”
Another said: “This is absolutely true. Kashmir is paradise, but cleanliness should be everyone’s responsibility.”
