While most 11-year-olds are currently jetting off on summer camps and school holidays, Thane’s Grihitha Vichar has rewritten the record books for mountaineering in India. The young adventure prodigy successfully concluded an extraordinary mega expedition titled ‘Mission India Summit – 16 Countries, 16 Peaks’, where he climbed the highest geographical points across 16 different Indian states in an astonishing period of just 33 days.

The ambitious journey kicked off in Maharashtra on April 23, 2026, and officially culminated at the highest point in Gujarat on May 25, 2026.

An amazing logistical feat

Conquering mountains is difficult enough, but managing the busy travel schedule behind the Grihitha mission was an endurance test in itself. To connect across more than 30 cities and reach her trails on time, the young mountaineer:

He jumped on 15 flights, covering a distance of 9,141 kilometers by air.

5,480 kilometers were recorded by road and 618 kilometers by train.

I walked and traveled over 130 kilometers on foot across rugged terrain.

The ambitious journey kicked off in Maharashtra on April 23, 2026, and officially culminated at the highest point in Gujarat on May 25, 2026.

The sixteen peaks have been conquered

Grihitha’s historic multi-state sweep began on home soil before spanning the length and breadth of the country:

  • Kalsubai (1646 AD) – Maharashtra
  • Sonsogur (1026 AD) – Goa
  • Mullayanagiri (1930 AD) – Karnataka
  • Messapulimala (2640 m) – Kerala
  • Doddabetta (2537 AD) – Tamil Nadu
  • Patal Toka – Telangana
  • Deomali (1672 AD) – Odisha
  • Gorlata – Chhattisgarh
  • Parsnath (1365 AD) – Jharkhand
  • Sandakphu (3636 m) – West Bengal
  • Silkal Mountain, Tumjang Peak (1860 m) – Assam
  • Karwa Peak (1467 m) – Haryana
  • Highest peak in Punjab (1000 m) – Punjab
  • Guru Shekhar (1722 AD) – Rajasthan
  • Dhobgarh (1352 AD) – Madhya Pradesh
  • Girnar Peak (1117 m) – Gujarat
  • (Note: Access to some peak permits, including Anamudi in Kerala and select forest areas, has been restricted due to local safety and forest regulations.)

Mountaineering with a mission

For Gretha, this was not just a pursuit of personal glory. At every summit she conquered, the 11-year-old proudly held up placards calling for “Beti Bachao, Beti Badhao” to champion girl-child education and women’s empowerment across the country. Her philosophy remains clear: “An empowered daughter builds a stronger nation.”

This is not Grihitha’s first brush with a history at high altitude. By the time she was eight, she had already trekked to the famous Mount Everest Base Camp in Nepal. At the age of nine, she stood on the roof of Africa after climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. She also holds records as one of the youngest Indians to have summited Mount Kinabalu in Malaysia, Mount Bazarduzu in Azerbaijan, and Kedarkantha Peak in Uttarakhand. With Mount Yonam in Himachal Pradesh also under her belt, she has now actively climbed across 18 Indian states.

Diwali trip

The mega project has been sponsored by the National Association of Realtors of India (NAR-India), which was launched by popular actor and motivational speaker Boman Irani in March, and is managed by Rishi Satpal Kapoor from Nagpur.

Grihitha is already planning her next moves. It intends to conquer the Indian state’s remaining high points during its upcoming Diwali holiday expedition in October 2026, and is actively seeking sponsors and institutional support to take its message of national pride and inspiring youth to greater international heights.
