An altercation between a man and a woman in Gurgaon’s Sector 62 has caught the attention of social media users. In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the man accused the woman of running his foot over with her car. He also claimed that instead of apologizing to him for the incident, she threatened him by invoking her husband’s position in the police.
The man claimed in the video that he was walking on the side of the road when the woman hit his leg and foot with her car. She was seen sitting in the car arguing with a pedestrian, while he recorded the entire incident as it happened. He even showed the car’s number plate indicating that it was registered in Haryana.
The situation quickly escalated when the woman began threatening him. As he recorded a close-up video of her, she opened her side of the door and answered, saying her husband worked for the police. She then added: “Tu beech rastey mein chal raha hai isiliye tereko lagi (You’re walking in the middle of the road and that’s why I hit you).”
Then a pedestrian asked her if her car was stopped in the middle of the road, or if he was actually walking in the middle of the road. He then panned the camera and showed that her car was parked slightly to one side rather than in the middle. He asked her, “Aapki gadi beech raste mein khadi hai kya? Side mein nahi dikh rahi aapko? (Is your car parked in the middle of the road? Can’t you see it parked on the side?).”

Also what is logic? If her husband is in the police, can she do anything? pic.twitter.com/Y5t74vnnH4

The Internet calls women’s behavior “the pinnacle of entitlement.”
The incident sparked widespread criticism on social media, and many wondered why it was necessary to mention her husband’s profession.
One person said: “This is the height of entitlement. You hit someone’s foot and instead of basic decency, you show off pseudo police force. A classic case of unaccountability on Indian roads. I hope the man gets justice and her car is towed. Gurgaon traffic never lets you down for the wrong reasons.”
“What is this logic? My husband works in the police. Does this give them a license to commit crime???” Another individual asked.
One user commented: “A simple regret was enough, but her fragile ego made her famous.”
“When will people stop showing off their relationships?” a different person asked.
Another said: “In India, it often feels as if laws are only applied to the common people, while the rich, politicians, bureaucrats and powerful individuals are treated differently.”
