Latest update:
A woman who spent 9 years as an IT manager, quit her corporate job, bought an auto rickshaw, and now earns around Rs 60,000 a month while finding peace in her daily life.

Her career change sparked controversy online
A woman who left her career in IT after nearly a decade and started driving an auto rickshaw is attracting attention online for her unusual career shift. According to a founder who met her during a trip, the woman now earns around Rs 60,000 a month and says she is happier than she was in her corporate job.
The story was published by entrepreneur Nisreen Madhlaj on Instagram. She said that a simple conversation while riding in the car turned into a lesson about choosing peace over professional titles.
A conversation came up
“Sometimes, the most powerful stories come from unexpected conversations,” Medhlaj wrote, sharing his experience on Instagram. She recalled meeting a woman driving a car who was curious about her journey in a field largely dominated by men.

According to Medlaj, the driver appeared confident, well-dressed, and comfortable with the life she had built for herself. “Today, I met a woman who drives a car. Confident, elegantly dressed, and completely at peace with her life. When I asked her how she felt in a male-dominated field, her answer stuck with me,” she wrote.
During their conversation, the driver revealed that she previously worked as an IT manager for nine years before deciding to leave the industry.
Why did she leave her job?
Medlaj said that the woman spoke frankly about the pressures that accompanied her role in the company. “She said she had been working as an IT manager for 9 years. She had left it all behind: the stress, the stress, the constant stress,” the founder wrote.
Instead of continuing in the corporate world, the woman chose a completely different path and started driving her auto rickshaw.
According to Madlaj, the driver now earns about 60,000 rupees every month. Most importantly, she feels satisfied with her life. “Now, she drives her own car. She earns around Rs 60,000 a month. Most importantly, she said she is happy,” she added.
The meeting made Medhlaj think about how many people spend years chasing promotions, titles and positions without asking themselves what makes them truly happy.
“It made me think, how often do we chase titles and forget to ask ourselves what truly makes us feel alive? Not all success stories look the same. Sometimes, choosing peace over prestige is the bravest decision you can make. Grateful for these conversations that continually encourage me.”
