What initially looked like a tragic death due to snake bite, has now turned into one of the most horrific murder investigations in Uttar Pradesh.
A social media post describes the case as “calculated. Cold. Cruel.” The matter went viral after police alleged that a 32-year-old school principal in Meerut was murdered in a meticulously planned plot involving sleeping pills, Krait poison and two snake charmers.
According to reports and police, Atul Kumar Panwar, who was running a school in Hastinapur, was found dead at his rented house in J Block Colony on Friday morning. Investigators now allege that his wife Damini conspired with Tusshar, a bus driver who works at Panwar’s school, to frame his killing as a fatal snake bite.
Police said Atul was given milk mixed with sleeping tablets before going to bed. Once he lost consciousness, a highly venomous krait snake was released onto the bed, where it bit him, leading to his death. Officers allege that Tusshar sought the help of two snake charmers, Sonu and Uday Kumar, who were also arrested in connection with the case.
A widely shared post on X claimed that Damini had paid her lover INR 15,000 to buy the snake and that it had been starving for three days before the attack. Police have confirmed the arrests and the alleged use of pot, but continue to investigate the full sequence of events and the motive behind the crime.

The issue of ‘cold and cruel’ Internet calls
The case sparked widespread reactions online. One user wrote: “Wow… I wish she used that level of intelligence to achieve something meaningful in life and make her parents proud. Send them to prison for life.”
Another commented: “Snake using another snake.” A third quipped: “Times like these make you feel happy being single and having a 60+ year old man as your driver!!!”
Others reacted stronger. One of the comments said: “The krait is less harmful than the lady.” Another user called for tougher penalties for violent crimes, arguing that harsher penalties are needed to deter future perpetrators.
The police are continuing their investigations, and further legal proceedings will determine the exact sequence of events and the extent of responsibility of those arrested.
