A software professional in Bengaluru has gone viral after showing how he replaced the city’s notorious traffic and office routine with the misty Chikkamagaluru Hills. He left home at 4:30 a.m. and managed to get to a city coffee shop in time for work, proving that remote work can sometimes feel more like an escape than a regular workday.
The man, named Ankit, documented his journey in a video shared on Instagram, where he showed how he combines work and travel without taking a day off. His unconventional approach quickly resonated with social media users, with many expressing a desire to do the same.
Spending every day in the office can become repetitive and uninspiring, Ankit explained in the video. Looking for a change of environment, he decided to spend the week working from Chikkamagaluru and invited viewers to join him virtually on the journey.

To make the plan a success, Ankit and his friend, whom he referred to as ‘Sachiv Ji’, carefully scheduled their departure. Since they had a stand-up meeting at noon, they chose to start their journey at 4:30 am on Friday, allowing them to avoid Bengaluru’s notorious traffic congestion and make the most of the day.
The pair traveled via NH 44 and then NH 75. According to Ankit, leaving before sunrise proved to be a smart decision, as the roads were relatively clear and the journey was much faster than later in the day.
Their first stop came around 7:30 am at Dhruvathare, where they stopped for breakfast before continuing towards Chikkamagaluru. Along the way, Ankit noted that the highway between Bengaluru and Hassan was largely in good condition.
Although there were a few detours, the roads allowed for a smooth and comfortable drive most of the way.
When they passed Belur and moved from the national highway to the state highway, the scenery began to change. Surrounded by lush greenery and natural scenery, Ankit described the route as one of the most scenic road trips one can take near Bengaluru.

The duo eventually arrived at their accommodation at around 11am, leaving just enough time to settle down before work. Instead of treating the trip as a vacation, Ankit immediately switched into work mode.
He opened his laptop, checked messages, attended meetings, and got back to programming, all while enjoying the laid-back atmosphere of Chikkamagaluru’s coffee country.
The video quickly gained popularity online, arousing viewers’ admiration and curiosity.
“Where to stay in Chikmagalur, I couldn’t find a place with good wifi to run vdi,” one user asked.
Another viewer praised the views, writing: “Literally so beautiful 😌🍃⛰️”
A third user seemed to like Ankit’s lifestyle choice and commented, “Maze bhai hi le raha hai.”
Meanwhile, another person suggested a food recommendation for future trips, saying: “You had to go to Swathi’s delicacy it’s the best!!”
