A post shared on X by user @iamankitpande has gone viral, drawing attention for its dangers and sympathy. In the thread, the user narrated how the sudden disappearance of his regular pani puri vendor left him confused and eventually led to a decision to invest INR 1.5 lakh in rebuilding the vendor’s livelihood.

According to the post, the seller has been missing for nearly 10 days, with no sign of his cart or his presence in the usual place. Curious and concerned, the user traced his contact details from previous GPay transactions and contacted him.

What he discovered was a story of financial hardship: the seller had sold his cart to cover his wife’s hospital expenses, leaving him without a source of income or support.

During their conversation, the seller reportedly said, “Sir, I need a job,” a phrase that, the user noted, stuck with him. Instead of providing temporary financial assistance, the two discussed a long-term solution: starting a small business.

The plan involved moving from a roadside cart to a convenient store in a prime location with a rent of INR 15,000 and a deposit of INR 50,000. The seller agreed to work fixed hours, from 3 pm to 11 pm, for a salary of INR 20,000.

What caught the investor’s attention was the seller’s optimism despite his circumstances. The seller reportedly expected daily earnings of INR 5,000, which equates to about INR 1.5 lakh per month, with potential savings of INR 60,000 to INR 70,000.

“The man who lost everything is still thinking about growth,” the user wrote, adding that his decision to invest Rs 1.5 lakh was “not sympathy, just a support mindset.”

The story quickly gained attention online, sparking a wave of reactions from users.

“You have an interesting life man. One day a woman is abusing you in the elevator, the next a woman is abusing you in the car, then another woman is abusing you in the train, you invest in a man’s pani puri, you fight with gym owners, your friend in the village gets cheated on… your friend in the city gets cheated on.. just wow,” said one user.

Another said: “Kindness creates opportunity: from loss to partnership, and regaining dignity together.”

A third user said: “Bro, why are you selling so much that you can’t even get treatment?”

“A few of my friends invested this way in a bakery and snack food business, and the story was similar to yours. What these workers do is they work 10-12 hours a day for 6-8 months and then suddenly they ask for $3-4 million upfront if the owner suddenly doesn’t agree they will run away,” said a fourth user.

“God will reward you. Good deeds are always rewarded. I would love to hear that you are rocking this one. Thank you and God bless you.” said a fourth user.

Another said: “Give him an extra salary incentive, based on profit. He might end up working harder and earning you more money.”
